Mango Strawberry Sorbet + AYOMO Juices

“But, being vegan is so hard!”

That’s what everyone says to me, followed by the usual “where do you get your protein”, “eating meat is a primal instinct” and  “fruit makes you fat” comments. I don’t blame them, if I asked myself three years ago about veganism, I probably would have responded similarly.

But in this day and age, being vegan has never been easier! With an incredible selection of fruits and vegetables from local markets, increasing range of faux meats and substitutes for non vegan foods.

A service I only recently discovered is AYOMO juice delivery, the lovely team there was kind enough to send me the juice box to trial.

The following are the flavors of the cold pressed juices I received:

  • Back to Roots (apple, spinach, beetroot, lemon)
  • Summer Lovin’ (apple, pineapple, lemon, mint)
  • Garden Green (apple, celery, cucumber, spinach, kale)
  • Doctor C (orange, carrot, grapefruit, lemon, mint)
  • Lady Luck (orange, carrot, watermelon, grapefruit)
  • Lean Machine (pear, broccoli, cucumber, green capsicum, kale)

Juicing removes the fibrous content from the foods and decreases the degree of oxidation. The process of cold press juicing avoids heat, which can deplete the quality of the nutrients in the fresh produce. This enables the highest quality of antioxidants and nutrients to be easily absorbed and assimilated by your cells.

First of all, I would like to clear up, I DO NOT support juice fasting (or any sort of fasting) but I do love a juice every now and then as an additional supplement to my meals.

Juice delivery is perfect for those who want that real boost of nutrition, but also don’t want to cash out on an expensive juicer. AYOMO takes special care to ensure the juices are delivered chilled and fresh, they are packaged meticulously to avoid any breakages during the delivery process.

In terms of the flavours, all the juices taste different despite similar colours and common ingredients. I would like to point that of the two green juices, Garden Green is definitely more mild, while Lean Machine sits further up on the ‘greenness’ scale.

Favourite(s): Doctor C and Lady Luck- I love myself a good ol’ kick of citrus!
Least Favourite: Lean Machine- personally I found the raw broccoli and capsicum flavours quite overwhelming and caustic. But if that’s something you like, then this is the juice for you!

Note // These juices should be consumed within three days of the delivery, as they are raw, fresh and free of any preservatives (: keep refrigerated!
